Finance Manager

We are working on an exciting new role for a Finance Manager to join a well established building contractors company just outside of Bishops Stortford. (Must Drive)

The finance manager will be responsible for 2 staff members and must have recent Sage 50 payroll experience. (This is a necessity) Experience of CIS would also be desirable.

Main duties

• Reporting to the Managing Director
• Responsible for financial planning, analysis and budgeting
• Complete monthly payroll and annual returns of P11Ds, P60s, yearend, and management of pension scheme
• Responsible for VAT, CIS and Corporation Tax Returns
• Managing annual departmental internal and external audits
• Work alongside external accountants as and when required
• Provide advice and guidance of forecasting and cashflow
• Responsible for completing Government trading returns
• Manage Company insurance renewal process and claims when required
• Accountable for departmental processes of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, cost reporting, credit control, expenses, accounts reconciliations
• Responsible for completing month end reports
• Support other areas of the business, such as QSs to achieve efficient processes and ways of working
• Responsible for the development and management of your team including multi-skilling to cover for periods of absences
• Any other duties as reasonably required by management

Skills and knowledge

• Confident oral and written communication skills.
• Previous Finance Management experience
• Excellent knowledge of Sage 50 Payroll, Sage Accounts, Web Contractor
• Effectively manage time to meet deadlines.
• Good negotiation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure
• Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of Subcontractors/CIS is essential
