Saffron Walden MP Kemi Badenoch co-hosted a digital skills training event for businesses in Uttlesford.
The Conservative, who was named the new Business and Trade Secretary in last month’s Cabinet reshuffle by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, was at Ugley Village Hall as around 30 firms got advice from the Google Digital Garage team.
Guests were shown how to grow their businesses online, from building a website to creating a social media strategy.
“It was great to meet business owners to learn more about the ideas they have to expand their projects as well as hearing about the difficulties many of them face when starting new businesses online,” said Mrs Badenoch, who is also president of the Board of Trade and minister for women and equalities, alongside her role heading the new Department of Business and Trade.
“All across the UK, businesses are adjusting as they operate in a ‘new normal’ post-pandemic, with many focusing on improving their online presence. I am keen to ensure local businesses here in our constituency have access to support so they can too.”
