A car dealership with modern and vintage arms held a careers evening in a bid to attract more young people to its apprenticeship scheme.
P & A Wood, in Great Easton, is an authorised Rolls-Royce dealer and Bentley service dealer as well as being Rolls-Royce and Bentley heritage dealers.
The firm specialises in sales, service and spare parts for the entire range of pre- and post-war Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars from 1904 to the present day.
The event was attended by around 80 people, including Uttlesford District Council’s topic lead for science, technology, engineering and maths Cllr Stewart Luck (Residents for Uttlesford, Debden & Wimbish).
“P & A Wood had been finding it difficult to recruit young people to be trained under the Heritage Skills Apprenticeships Scheme for careers at their specialist facilities, so the managers responsible decided to hold a careers evening,” said Cllr Luck.
“The staff enjoyed it and the Wood family were so proud of their workforce. It was amazing to see it first-hand.
“I was pleased to be invited to support the initiative. I continue to encourage opportunities for our young people leaving the education system and looking for employment.”
