A Bishop’s Stortford funeral director set a fundraising record at its annual charity golf day.
Daniel Robinson & Sons, whose head office is in South Street, raised more than £47,000 to help six children with cerebral palsy.
The event at Colne Valley Golf Club, on September 14, was won by a team from Scott Myles Interiors, who entered for the first time, while Mark Preston got a hole in one.
The funds will be used to pay for specialist private physiotherapy and equipment for kids Lenny, Lyncoln, Aiden, Summer, Nat and Sid who are all making fantastic progress despite many of them having to endure major surgery during lockdown.
The physiotherapy, which is not available through the NHS, will give the children the opportunity to greatly increase their mobility, helping them to lead more independent lives in the future.
Daniel Robinson & Sons managing director Gary Neill said: “This money will make a huge difference to the lives of these children and their families.
“Whilst our team work hard to coordinate and deliver the day, we couldn’t do any of this without the generosity of local companies who donate items and the players who come and give so generously.”
