Cash grant helps wheels on the Buffy Playbus go round and round

Saffron Building Society has awarded a grant to an independent charity which helps to combat the loneliness and isolation felt by mums after the birth of their new babies.

The Buffy Playbus, which operates in Uttlesford, provides essential and safe play and learning for preschool children, allowing them to socialise with children their own age.

It is also a place for parents and carers to engage with others in the community, meet new friends or just relax whilst their children engage in activities such as painting, cooking and gardening.

The cash boost has come from the building society’s Saffron Community Fund, in association with the Essex Community Foundation.

“Buffy Playbus has been very grateful to receive the support of Saffron Building Society,” said the charity’s project manager Rosie Juhl.

“It has enabled us to continue providing our service to many families throughout Uttlesford so that they can come together within their own communities to make supportive friendships, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun.”
