A Bishop’s Stortford taxi business has partnered with Uber as part of its Local Cab service.
Associated Taxis will fulfil trips booked by people in the town using the Local Cab option via the Uber app.
“We’re proud to bring Local Cab to the people of Bishop’s Stortford,” said Associated’s general manager Jack Doherty. “This provides another way for customers to book with us.
“And for anyone visiting Bishop’s Stortford that already uses the Uber app, Local Cab will make it easy for them to book a ride with a local operator.”
The arrival of Local Cab in Bishop’s Stortford follows previous launches in more than 60 locations across the UK.
“The Local Cab rollout is proving a success for local operators, riders and local economies, helping to maximise earnings opportunities for drivers while giving passengers more choice,” said Uber UK’s general manager Andrew Brem.
“We are excited to launch in Bishop’s Stortford and to continue extending the product to more towns and cities across the UK.”
