More than 500 roles will be on offer when Stansted Airport hosts its third major jobs fair of the year on Tuesday (October 4).
In the run-up to Christmas and what is set to be a busy 2023, 25 companies are recruiting cabin crew, retail managers, engineers, chefs, drivers, check-in agents and customer service representatives.
Some of the employers looking to meet new talent are Ryanair, Titan Airways, Border Force, Jet2.com, World Duty Free, HMS Host, National Express and London Stansted.
The airport has taken on over 300 new employees for its security operation since January, while airlines, ground handlers and retailers have also recruited hundreds of new staff.
The recruitment campaign for summer 2022 involved partnering with colleges, Job Centres and councils and an event at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium that attracted over 1,500 jobseekers.
Marcella M’Rabety, head of education, skills and employment with Stansted Airport owner Manchester Airports Group (MAG), said: “Following a very successful recruitment campaign to get Stansted ready for summer 2022, we’re now looking further ahead and preparing for a busy Christmas period and summer 2023 season.
“There are around 500 jobs up for grabs with a variety of airport companies who are looking for cabin crew, engineers, shop assistants and hospitality staff.
“An airport job is a perfect fit for people with strong people skills, drive for success and an interest in building an exciting career in aviation. Airports offer loads of variety, bags of opportunity and a fantastic team that is there to support you.
“This year’s job fairs have been extremely popular, so we recommend jobseekers should register quickly for next week’s event to avoid disappointment.”
People who get jobs with MAG can take advantage of a range of benefits, including discounts of up to 80% on public transport when travelling to work, free on-site parking while working and when going on holiday, a pension scheme, training programmes and retail discounts.
The Stansted Airport Academy will be in attendance, promoting its free pre-employment support programmes, including fully accredited training schemes for those on Jobseekers Allowance.
The event takes place at the airport’s Radisson Blu Hotel from 11am to 2pm. To book see https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/london-stansted-airport-jobs-fair-tickets-407524676277.
