Chamber of Commerce members help friends forced to flee Ukraine find jobs

Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce members have helped two friends forced to flee Ukraine find jobs in the county they now call home.

Nastia Novikov and Anna Neustroieva had returned from an evening at a restaurant with friends when they learned of the Russian invasion of their home country.

They made the difficult decision to leave and escaped to Poland before travelling to England and being welcomed into the Hertford home of Handelsbanken corporate account manager Adam Taylor and his wife Jo.

Adam, who works at the bank’s Hertford branch having been based in its former premises in Sworder’s Court, Bishop’s Stortford, has now helped the pals find work with assistance from Viv Debnam and Justine Perry of fellow chambers Fore Street Employment Agency and Cariad Marketing respectively.

Nastia has now secured a permanent position with Cariad while Anna has a temporary role at Stephen Austin.

Nastia and Anna, who have since been joined by friend Sophia and Nastia’s mum, want to move into a flat of their own, but are facing barriers because of their short work history and lack of credit history. If you are able to help, email enquiries@hertschamber.com with ‘accommodation’ in the subject line.
